Low Scoring Match Between India and Pakistan In Asia Cup 2016

Cricket is unpredictable game. Match is never over, unless final bowl is bowled or final run in made. These two are among the famous slang in Cricket. And yesterday match showed why people say so.

None would have thought, that this game will end up in this way (except India’s win). Population of two major Asian rivals were glued in front of TV, when India’s skipper Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl.  The four from Hafeez lighten the face of entire Pakistan fans and it looked that batting is going to fire for Pakistan and they would score somewhere around 150, but then Nehra showed that what experience can do and what kind of caliber he has. The fourth ball of first over took more bounce and took an edge of bat and went straight to keeper Dhoni, who makes no mistake behind the wicket.

From there the Pakistan team started digging the grave for themselves. Fast bowling trio (Nehra, Bumrah and Pandya) were well supported by Spinners (Jadega and Yuvi). Remaining things were done by India’s cracking fielding. Combination of bowling and fielding left nothing for Pak batting and they ended up in 83. Sarfraz was the only batsman, who showed some patience and scored 25 runs in 24 balls with 03 fours.

Now it looked like cakewalk for India, but wait! India-Pakistan match and no contest, it never happened in history and it didn’t happen yesterday too.

Mohammad Amir started bowling for Pakistan and huge appeal on very first ball, and wicket on 02 ball of the first over.

India was 2/2 and later 8/3 in 2.4 overs. India was in deep trouble. The match was ON right away. But India’s hope is always there till Kohli playing. On last two occasions, Kohli scored 100s and India won. But yesterday’s game was totally different, score was less and batsman just needed to stay on wicket and not to play rash shot. The same policy adopted by Kholi and Yuvi. They both stayed on pitch. Yuvi supported Kohli well and he scored 49 before getting an unfair decision from Umpire. But till the time Kohli got out, match was in India’s pocket. India was 76/4 in 14.1 overs. 8 run to win. Dhoni did what he is known for, finishes on his own style.

India won by 5 wickets and 27 balls to spare. At the end, match was not one sided, Pakistan lost but got some respect due to their bowling unit.

Man of the Match – Virat Kohli

World’s best rivals confronting one more time.

As India Pakistan names come together, rivalry itself follows it. There are plenty of issues, where there is no result between these two countries, but cricket is somewhere different. One has to win in this. But it is not that easy. Ground turns into battlefield, but weapons are bat and bowl.

These two countries have played against 127 times including 5 abandoned matches. Pakistan has edge over India in total. Pakistan has won 72 occasions and India has won 51 occasions. The last time these two played against was on 15 February 2015 in Adelaide Oval.

27th February 2016 (Saturday) is the day when these two will be facing each other once again, almost after 01 Year. As it is world known that Cricket never remains Cricket, when these two faces each other. It is not for winning and losing, although both countries fight for their pride. The entire world will be watching this game at the edge of their seats, whether in stadium or home.

India started their campaign of Asia Cup with win over Bangladesh, but Pakistan is going to kick off their campaign against India, which is never easy. India is hot favourite for winning this game and lifting the Asia Cup. Afghanistan’s couch Inzamam-ul-Haq and UAE coach Aaqib Javed backing India for lifting the cup. Wasim Akram quoted in The Times of India “Yes, that’ll be a good game to look forward to and given the way India are playing right now, they’re clear favourites”.

Although all the words and records are for paper. The team only wins, when they perform good on the day.

P.S. I hope the best team wins tomorrow.

Double Dhamaka in Cricket on Republic Day

26th January, 2016 was one of the best days for India in 2016. Indians were fulfilled with patriotic feelings, because we were celebrating 67th Republic Day. We remember our freedom fighters and pay tribute to them, because without their sacrifices, this day is unimaginable.

With this happiness, two more good news followed us. Both were from Cricket field. Where early morning, Indian Women’s Cricket Team beat world’s number one Australian women’s Cricket Team by 5 wickets. With this win, India is ahead in T-20 tournament with 1-0 lead. This win put spark in Indian women cricket team as well as in Indians. Now India has advantage and can bring Australia in pressure.
This was not enough for the day. Now Indian Cricket lovers had fixed their eyes on Men’s performance in Cricket. On the go, 4 losses in ODI had put India in shameful condition, but the win in last ODI lighten the way for Indian Cricket Team. The good thing of this win was that India will begin new format with win in their bank.
It is always beneficial to start with a win and it helped India to win their first T-20 against Australia in 3 Matches Series. Now India is one ahead in tournament. Explosive start from the openers, sturdy performances by experienced Kohli And Raina and power hitting by Dhoni in the end helped India to reach 188.
In reply Australia could only reach till 151/3. It means India won by 37 runs. Debunant Bumrah was again impressive with ball like last ODI. He claimed 03 important wickets.
So with this “Double Dhamaka” India finished their Republic Day.
